Fully Integrated and Secure Payments using ECRs

As standards evolve and new payment methods have gained popularity, the Electronic Cash Register (ECR) remains the reliable workhorse of the retail payments industry. However, ECRs cannot accept credit, debit, gift or loyalty card payments without a stand-alone payment terminal. This approach has several limitations: more double entry errors, extra equipment at the countertop, and more difficulty with settlement. Until recently, merchants using an ECR with a stand-alone payment terminal could only keep track of card-based transactions, such as credit or debit, with no way to total cash transactions. Using MerchantVu, merchants and corporate head offices can now track and record these transactions, allowing for easy identification of volume by transaction type, or specific transactions. This is useful for corporate offices that require a complete view of each store's activities. Merchants can also use Precidia's products to remotely access polling data from multiple ECRs, from software such as PC/Poll or others.
