POSLynx220 payment router

Precidia’s TransNet payment engine has been flexibly designed to operate on a range of router-based platforms. For smaller merchants without access to a Cisco router, the POSLynx220 is the ideal platform, with 2 dial and 2 serial ports for peripheral integration, as well as full security and automatic dial back-up. For larger merchants, ISOs or processors, the Cisco Integrated Services Router (ISR) offers as many as 1200 ports for multiple merchants or locations. In many instances, an existing Cisco router can become the TransNet platform, resulting in significant cost savings.

Precidia’s approach to payments is unique. While many payment applications and virtual terminals exist, Precidia’s is the first to leverage router technology from Cisco and Precidia for more secure transactions. By housing the application on a secure router rather than the POS device itself or a PC, the payments function is less vulnerable to attack and is therefore offers more comprehensive protection of cardholder data. In addition, the use of a payment router allows for the simple integration of multiple peripherals, such as pinpads, check readers and magstripe readers.

Dots Benefits

Built on top of Cisco's Application eXtension Platform (AXP) on the modular Integrated Services Router (ISR), Precidia's TransNet™ leverages existing POS equipment to deliver fast, secure IP transactions using an existing PC or POS device. This architecture delivers several key benefits:

Secures Cardholder Data

  • leverages the expertise of the industry's most trusted names in secure networking and IP payments
  • unique router-based design delivers fully PCI and PABP compliant transactions
  • PCI and PABP compliance is constantly monitored and updated as new threats emerge, ensuring hassle-free ongoing cardholder data security

Cost Effective

  • leverages the merchant's existing capital investment in PCs or other POS equipment
  • offers ongoing operational savings, lowering the total cost of ownership (TCO), from more efficient provisioning to easier maintenance, resulting in significant return on investment
  • built-in PABP and PCI compliance eliminates need for costly audits and recertifications
  • decentralizing corporate data centers using the redundancy provided by the Cisco routers offers operational savings
  • transaction fees will be reduced for many businesses, since they can now route transactions directly to the processor's host, eliminating the middleman
  • Cisco architecture is designed for unified communications, easily integrating VOIP, video and other features for cost savings into the future

Advanced Management and Reliability

  • management tools unprecedented in the industry, delivering 24/7 access to transaction data and diagnostics files
  • management suite facilitates simple remote deployment, making it very cost effective for processors and support organizations
  • unique router model offers a simple redundancy model, for enhanced reliability

Powerful User-Controlled Functionality Creates Business Opportunities

  • removing the payments function from the PC or POS device, offers the user greater control over the payment function
  • application or specification changes can be deployed to multiple locations at the click of a mouse
  • processors and network providers can expand their offerings beyond payments, creating new revenue streams
