Ottawa, Canada, June 21, 2010 - Precidia Technologies Inc., a global leader in the design and manufacture of Internet Protocol (IP) payment and networking products, announced today its remote polling solution for PC/Poll software Version 7. PC/Poll Version 7 is software, developed by Tri-Technical Systems which polls data from remote cash registers from various vendors, including Sharp, Sam4s, and Casio. Precidia's proven serial IP adapters allow Dealers and merchants to access this cash register data from any location, by connecting the master cash register and the PC to an IP network. Precidia's adapters are managed and monitored by the NetVu management server, making tasks such as configuration as simple as downloading a file.
Precidia offers some of the industry's most popular serial IP adapters and routers. Used in over 200 applications in more than 85 countries, these products, which include the iPocket232, POSLynx220 and Ether232Duo, offer proven reliability. Easy to configure and deploy using NetVu, the Precidia device connects a master PC and cash registers to an Ethernet-based network. By leveraging a network that is usually already in place, merchants can access polling data from any number of ECRs from a PC on the network. Networked remote polling makes it easier to manage and monitor data from multiple ECRs at various locations.
"One of the growing demands that we encounter from our dealer network is how to make ECRs more easily accessible for remote polling", said Amber Earles, Project Manager of Tri-Technical Systems. Often there are many hurdles in creating a link between multiple store locations and 1 PC. With the help of Precidia's products, dealers are able to offer a remote polling solution to their customers with very few additions to the currently installed hardware. I also enjoyed working with the Precidia team in testing their devices. They were very helpful and took the lead on setting up our testing environments. I feel very confident that they will be able to help support dealers in implementing these solutions. We're very pleased to be able to recommend Precidia devices as a solution for our dealer network".
Precidia President Deepak Wanner believes that many merchants that use Precidia's payment software, TransNet, for ECRs, could also be taking advantage of Precidia's polling solution: "Payment integration is key for merchants using ECRs, but some are unaware of the additional value of remote polling over their network", said Mr. Wanner. "The iPocket232, for example, is an inexpensive addition to a merchant's existing set-up, which greatly simplifies access to polling data from ECRs".
